Carl Christian Gilhuus-Moe, PhD
Chairman of the Board
Dr. Gilhuus-Moe is Chairman of the Board of Oslo Medtech, a group of hospital, finance, knowledge and research institutions focusing on medical technology (medtech) innovation that facilitates development of medtech products and services. He is a Senior Advisor of NeoMed Management, a Europe-based venture capital fund focused on international healthcare and medical technology. Dr. Gilhuus-Moe is Chairman of the Board of Respinor AS and NeoRad AS, and a Board Member of Removaid AS. He was Chairman of the Board for both SINTEF-Unimed (the Norwegian Institute of Technology) and the European Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standardization (ECCLS). He was the founding President and CEO of Dynal Biotech AS (now part of Thermo Fisher Inc.). Prior to that position, Dr. Gilhuus-Moe was a member of the executive group, Vice President and head of Hafslund-Nycomed ASA's diagnostic division (now part of Abbott Laboratories). These executive and strategic positions and service on the board of directors of other companies have allowed him to develop expertise in the deployment of strategic growth initiatives within the industry and bring valuable, external insight to our board and organization. Dr. Gilhuus-Moe trained at the Swedish Institute of Management, the Sloan School of Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned his doctorate in biochemistry from the University of Oslo.
Mr. Heidenreich has a broad range of experience in shipping, logistics and IT. In 1984, he founded Heidmar Inc. which controlled approximately 100 oil tankers and had two subsidiaries in Texas in the oil service industry. In 2006, Mr. Heidenreich sold Heidmar to the Morgan Stanley private equity group. He currently serves as Chairman of Penfield Marine, a spin-off of Heidmar, and manages Heidenreich Enterprise LP, a family owned private equity company. He and his wife are active philanthropists through the Per and Astrid Heidenreich Family Foundation in Greenwich, Connecticut. These past innovative and entrepreneurial accomplishments contribute valuable experience to our board and organization. Born and educated in Norway, Mr. Heidenreich became a US citizen in 2005
Ingrid Teigland Akay, MD
Dr Ingrid Teigland Akay is a medical doctor and venture capital investor with experience from healthcare, consumer goods and technology investments. She is currently Managing Partner of Hadean Ventures, a life science specialist firm, having previously worked for Inventages Venture Capital, a global healthcare venture fund, in London. Dr Akay has broad clinical background from internal medicine and surgery, having worked at hospitals in the UK, Norway and Germany, both in the public and private sector. Dr Akay has experience working on the board of directors of companies based in the UK, US and Norway. Dr Akay holds an MD from the Medical School of Hanover, and an MBA with focus on Finance from London Business School.
Fritz Heidenreich is Founder & President of Q88 LLC, a privately owned company he established in 2006 and the leading SaaS provider to the maritime industry. Mr. Heidenreich is responsible for the technical innovations of their electronic documentation systems built for the tanker and dry bulk industries to facilitate sharing of operational information in an efficient and productive way. Over 75% of tankers worldwide are currently listed on the company's flagship platform, Q88.com.
Prior to Q88, Mr. Heidenreich was CIO of Heidmar Inc., a commercial tanker pool operator based in Norwalk, Connecticut. He spent 15 years with the company developing their internal voyage and pool management system. Mr. Heidenreich earned a bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado.
Hans Thomas Holbye
Mr. Holbye is the Managing Director and CEO of Johs. Hansen Rederi AS. He was a Finance Manager at IBM Norway and CFO and Head of the Investment Division of the Torvald Klaveness Group. Mr. Holbye serves on several Norwegian company boards and brings additional, deep knowledge of finance and investment to the board and our organization. Mr. Holbye and holds an MSc Business and Administration at BI Norwegian Business School.
