How it Works
Each tag emits ultrasound, BLE, RF, or hybrid signals to infrastructure receivers. Those signals are translated into positioning and events in the RTLS engine.
High Precision Hybrid Tags

These tags combine Ultrasound Low Energy™ (ULE) and Bluetooth® Low Energy (“BLE”) in a single device to deliver the most reliable indoor positioning available. Bluetooth LE Tags

Bluetooth LE, or BLE, tags provide flexible and cost-effective visibility for departments that need reliable tracking without the precision of Ultrasound. They pair easily with SonitorONE Gateways and BLE infrastructure, making them a strong choice for large-scale programs or basic inventory tracking.
Mobile Device Tags
Use mobile phones as fully functional RTLS tags.
When running the SonitorONE mobile app or SDK, mobile devices can act as tags that deliver step-level accuracy indoors and GPS outdoors. This unlocks safety, visibility, and workflow automation without requiring a dedicated tag. It also supports partner devices with built-in duress buttons for staff safety.
Passive RFID Tag
Battery-free, low-cost tags for specimens, surgical instruments, and small supplies.
SonitorONE integrates with RFID systems, which allows for the tracking of passive radio frequency identification (RFID) tags. These are printable tags that are low-cost and do not contain a battery. They are used for specialied use cases such as tracking specimens to maintain and audit the specimen chain of custody. Users of SonitorONE Applications can see RFID tags in the same environment as RTLS tags on a single pane of glass.
