Sonitor Newsletter – Quarterly Update – Fall 2026
Understanding what is happening across a healthcare organization takes more than a record of completed tasks. Teams need to know where equipment is available, how patients are moving through care, and where help is needed.
In this edition, we share our new white paper on the operational data behind AI, practical clinical insights from Teresa Brasac, and a closer look at hot news in location intelligence for healthcare.
Before AI Can Optimize Healthcare, It Needs Better Operational Data
AI depends on the quality of the information behind it. Yet much of what happens during care delivery remains difficult to capture: equipment waiting to be used, delays between workflow steps, or the time spent searching for an available asset.
Our new white paper explores how location intelligence can create more accurate, contextual operational data to support automation, analytics, and AI across healthcare.
Through examples in asset management, operating room workflows, and staff safety, it examines how a clearer picture of daily activity can help organizations make better decisions about their resources and processes.
For leaders evaluating their next investment in AI or workflow automation, the paper offers a practical starting point: understanding the data those tools will need.

Getting Ahead of the Call Light
Teresa Brasac in American Nurse Journal
A purposeful check-in can address a patient’s needs before they have to ask for help.
Writing in American Nurse Journal, Teresa Brasac, PhD, MSN, MBA, APRN, Sonitor’s Chief Clinical and Informatics Officer, examines the evidence behind purposeful staff rounding and its role in improving patient experience and reducing call-light use.
She also addresses the practical challenge of sustaining rounding during a busy shift. Her article includes a bedside checklist, ways to adapt rounding to different patient populations, and guidance for nurse leaders supporting their teams.
It’s a useful read for anyone working to make proactive patient care a consistent part of daily practice.

Making Fall-Prevention Workflows More Visible
Clinical Insight
Fall-prevention protocols depend on consistent action at the bedside. Care teams need ways to see where coverage gaps may be developing and coordinate help when it is needed.
In her recent Sonitor article, Teresa Brasac explores how healthcare RTLS can support rounding visibility and nurse call automation. She explains why reliable room-level location matters when that information is used to trigger a clinical workflow.
The article connects precision location technology with the practical work of supporting safer patient care.
